Welcome to 1770 Dragons

Our Dragon Boat Club was formed in 2009. We train on the pristine waters of Bustard Bay, Seventeen Seventy. New members of all ages, fitness levels, both male and female are welcome.

If you are interested in trying out Dragon boating, then keep on reading....

DRAGON PASS is a National scheme which provides temporary membership that allows you to come and try paddling with any local dragon boat club for an entire month free-of-charge. 

Contact our Club to find out how you can sign up for your free 28 days trial.

Please note:  The 28days Dragon Pass trial period commences from the date of registration.

Dragon Pass Q&A's

Q: What benefits do I get with a Dragon Pass?

A: 28 days free trail at any club in Qld, personal insurance cover and access to your

own member portal and more

Q: Can I participate in a regatta or event with Dragon Boat Queensland?

A: Yes you can attend any DBQ regatta whilst on a Dragon Pass, you just need to pay the regatta fees

 

Q: How many clubs can I use my Dragon Pass 28 days trial with?

A: Your pass gives you access to training sessions at any DBQ affiliated clubs in Queensland.

Our 1770 club will advise you on the best days to attend.

Q: What does membership cost me after my Dragon Pass expires?

A: If you decide to become a full time member you will be required to pay membership fees. 

You will be required to register for annual membership with DBQ. 

 

Fees are as follows: 

Adults - $105, U24 (18-24) - $80

 Juniors (8-17) - $45 which covers you for 12 months from the date of registration.

This sport has something for everyone.

Come and give paddling a try!

WHAT TO WEAR – shorts, track pants, paddling pants, gym wear – NO JEANS or WETSUITS.

 

WHAT TO BRING – Water bottle (not metal ones), Sunscreen & Hat

New paddlers are advised to attend their first session on Saturday

(see SESSION PROTOCOLS for more details and training times below). 

So come and give it a try we are all about FUN, FITNESS & FRIENDSHIP.

MONDAY              Meet at 4.00pm     Paddle 4.30pm - 5.30pm

WEDNESDAY               Meet at 4.00pm     Paddle 4.30pm - 5.30pm

SATURDAY               Meet at 7.00am     Paddle 7.30am - 8.30am

WINTER TIMES

MONDAY              Meet at 3.45 pm     Paddle 4.15pm - 5.15pm

WEDNESDAY               Meet at 3.45pm     Paddle 4.15pm - 5.15pm

SATURDAY               Meet at 7.30am     Paddle 8.00am - 9.00am

Saturday sessions are best recommended for new paddlers to the club.

Meet at boats next to VMR building near boat ramp at 1770.
We compete in the Greater Wide Bay Series and have attended

States and National Regattas.
